Question asked by Everett from Kansas
i have the highest hughes net speed which is around 2000kbps down and 500 up and im wondering if that can play games like halo 3 and cod4 online without that much lag. I was looking for wireless internet but i have been told that it lags a lot when your trying to play Xbox Live because the time it takes to go from your xbox to the Satellite to the company to the Satellite then to your Xbox again.

but not terribly if you have a good provider. Lighting miles away will often make your service unavailable. I am going to assume that you mean the Hughes Satellite internet service.

Also satellite internet is not as fast as dsl or cable but is still way faster than dial up
My advice if you cannot get dsl or cable internet.AT&T is very reliable and fast.

but you will still need to use your phone line to send information TO the Internet. com/antivirus. geo1944 is correct on all answers. All you need is a Wireless Network Adapter.

Google "Virginia tornado" images. I think this applies to either ps3 or xbox360. The biggest problem with satellite internet is the "latency" or "lag" that occurs because you are sending and receiving information all the way up into space!
A faster and cheaper solution is mobile broadband that uses cellular tower networks.
I do not think Hughesnet even supports voip. Without doing that. make them up a little basket of stuff from a dollar tree (or some place you can get everything for a dollar) and spend no more than ten dollars.
